World Earth Day was established in the United States in 1970 following a major environmental disaster caused by an oil spill in Santa Barbara, California.

It’s a day dedicated entirely to the earth; a day where citizens across the world come together to celebrate it and to highlight all the urgent actions that must be implemented to promote its protection.

The theme for 2021 is "Restore Our Earth", focusing on the need to reduce the environmental impact of human activities on the planet and on what can be done to remedy the damage it has already caused.

Riello UPS is very attentive to these issues: it creates efficient and sustainable solutions that ensure the quality of the power supply and business continuity. In addition, it implements cutting-edge ideas and technologies with the aim of increasing efficiency and reducing both the energy consumption and environmental impact of its products.

To this end, it constantly invests in technological research for the use of clean and renewable energy sources. The social commitment of Riello UPS aims not only to help the present but above all to positively influence the future:

• Promoter of the Code of Conduct (Coc, Code of Conduct on Energy Efficiency and Quality of AC Uninterruptible Power Systems), a document signed by the major European UPS manufacturers and addressed to the European Commission.

• Extreme attention to the use of low environmental impact materials, from the initial design and development phase, to the release of its products on the market.

• Adoption of an ISO 14001 certified environmental management system.

• Great attention to the evolution of the electricity grid and in particular to the use of renewable energy sources by proposing not only traditional UPS and Smart Grid Ready solutions, but also photovoltaic inverters and energy storage systems.
